Why Spiritual Formation Is Not Working
Many faithful people are doing all the right things and feel nothing. Joshua names the exhaustion beneath religious performance and shows how prayer, Scripture, and Sabbath were meant to be places of meeting God, not tasks to complete.
- Why effort alone leaves people tired
- Practices as invitations, not report cards
- A simple path back to presence
- 02
The Supernatural Resurgence Is Coming
Across ages and traditions, people are hungry for a God who still speaks, heals, and moves. Joshua makes a pastoral case for why this moment matters and how churches can make room for the Spirit with wisdom and care.
- What Scripture says about the gifts today
- Healthy, non-hyped ministry in the Spirit
- Equipping ordinary people to pray for others
- 03
Word and Spirit: You Do Not Have to Choose
The structure of the historic church and the freedom of the Spirit are often set against each other. Joshua presents them as the two lungs of one full-bodied faith, drawing on liturgy, the sacraments, and the Vineyard's own story.
- How rhythm and freedom strengthen each other
- The sacraments as places of encounter
- Practical steps for any church tradition
- 04
When the Miracle Does Not Come
An honest reckoning with unanswered prayer, grief, and lament. Joshua offers a faith that keeps praying for breakthrough without looking away from pain, and that trusts God in the space between asking and receiving.
- Lament as an act of faith
- Caring for people who are still waiting
- Hope that does not depend on outcomes
